On the artist’s masks. Abstract
Masks produced by the artist visibilize the aspirations and fears of our time. Masks speak with symbolic representations of society. They raise ironies and criticisms. They allow transforming reality through supernatural symbols and signs. Even Claude LĂ©vi-Strauss (1985, p.131) evidences it when he asks "How in reality are mythical transformations operated?" And "In what historical or local conditions, under what external or internal influences, in response to what psychological motivations are these reversals engendered in the minds of narrators and listeners that, in all respects, is supposed to work in a more trivial way? "
